Politics Summary
In my assigned homework I read "A Plea for Captain John Brown". It details how in 1859 John Brown took control of a federal armory at Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Brown subsequently failed, was captured and hung for treason. It clearly demonstrates the growing anxiety and tension over slavery throughout the country.
